On May 24, a pre-auction exhibition of Auction 172 will open at the Sovkom Gallery, which will take place on June 07 at 19.00. More than 150 lots will be presented at the auction - paintings, drawings, porcelain, mainly of the 20th century, most of which will be available at the exhibition.
Among the top lots of the auction are the works of Boris Shcherbakov, Yakov Khaimov, Kim Britov, Vasily Shukhaev, Natalia Nesterova, Naum Sobol, a selection of porcelain figures and posters.
One of the masterpieces of the exhibition and the upcoming auction is a painting by Vasily Ivanovich Shukhaev "Still Life with Flowers", published in the catalog of the exhibition "Vasily Shukhaev. From private collections”, held in Tbilisi in 2010. On the canvas presented at the auction, Shukhaev shows himself as a master of depicting a classic flower still life, a “modern classic”.
Particular attention in the May auction deserves a canvas by Yakov Markovich Khaimov called "Graduates". The work is a true confirmation that Khaimov is one of the brightest representatives of the Moscow impressionist school of painting.
The top lots of the future, one hundred and seventy-first auction in the history of the Sovkom Auction House, which are also presented at the exhibition in the gallery, include a string of graphic theatrical costumes by Naum Fedorovich Sobol of the 1920s.
In addition to the above works, numerous views of Moscow and St. Petersburg will participate in the auction, genre paintings will be highlighted, unique items of porcelain and bronze, and posters will be shown.
