It was founded in 1790 by the noblewoman Maria Maltsova. Having bought the Dyatkovo lands, she is building a crystal factory and several glass enterprises. The plant began to produce highly artistic crystal with a virtuoso fine diamond edge and products with coloring. In 1798, the enterprise passed to his son Ivan Maltsov, under which an entire industrial empire was created in Russia: factories were opened in the Oryol, Smolensk, and Kaluga regions. In 1849, the management of this empire passed to the son of S. I. Maltsov. For the first time in the history of Russian industry, he builds gas-generating furnaces at the Dyatkovo plant, begins to produce glass called "copper ruby", and brews uranium glass.
